IKE Update

The association adjuster has finished replacing the temporary patches (replaced with shingles or new patches). He intends to start negotiation with the insurance company this week on areas of disagreement. Also, the association attorney is in contact with the insurance company.

Status of IKE Damage Repair

Repair work began this week in Truberry and Twinvale on damage where the insurance company and the association adjusters agree. The association adjuster will be meeting with the insurance company next week on the areas we disagree. If the insurance company does not agree to pay for the damage that the association adjusters have found, we will be taking them to court. The association attorney has already notified the insurance company that we are prepared to go to court.

Partial Payment Received – Repair Work Started

The association has received a partial payment from the Philadelphia Insurance Company. Repair work has begun on homes in the Burberry Park neighborhood which had the most damage. Hopefully, we can finalize the storm damage claim within the next few weeks.

Repair Work to Start

The association will receive a partial payment from the insurance company this week. The insurance company will also provide a list of homes with the worse damage. This will allow the association to start contracting for repairs.

Final payment may take another thirty days but repair work should be continuous until finished.

Inspection update

The company doing the insurance inspections advised that they expect to be completed with inspections by Nov. 15, except for several units that they have had trouble making contact with the owners. They are trying to get the report to the insurance company by Thanksgiving.

Company inspecting damage

The inspectors doing storm damage assessment are from Unified Building Sciences, Inc.. They expect to be finished in 2 to 2 1/2 weeks and will then make a report to the insurance company. IMC has given them a list of homes that have reported interior damage. For more information call IMC at 936-756-0032.

Meeting with insurance company

The association property manager (IMC) is meeting with the insurance company today to find out when adjusters will finish the assessment and how much longer it will be before the association gets the final report.

Time to check the house

After the thunderstorm this morning and with insurance adjusters working the neighborhoods it would seem like a good idea to take a walk through the house and check for water damage.

Car Looters

There are reports of a car being broken into in Summerhaze. The car was left in the driveway and items were removed sometime during the night. Residents should be alert and ensure cars are locked.
