Insurance Adjusters in Neighborhoods

Insurance adjusters are in the neighborhoods looking at the storm damage. The association has placed signs at all neighborhood entry/exit points letting residents know adjusters will be on roofs and yards assessing damage. If you have submitted a damage report to IMC, adjusters may request an appointment to look at interior damage.

Toilet Overflow Damage

The association has received several reports of damage caused by toilet overflow. It appears the builder used at least two different types of flush mechanisms. One is a horizontal rocker arm and float, the other is a vertical mechanism. All of the damage reports came from toilets that had a rocker arm and float mechanism. In each instance, the rocker arm broke and did not shut off the water when the tank was full. Water damage was extensive in each case. It is recommended that homeowners check the type of flush mechanism used in their toilets. If it is a rocker arm and float, they should consider changing to the vertical type or replacing the rocker arm and float.
